Elf's: Thanksgiving Week

With 2014 coming to the end, in less than 30 minutes, and church also has celebrated our own custom of Thanksgiving on the last Sunday of the year, so, this week shall be a thanksgiving week.

Well, it is indeed a year full of darkness, with major world chaotic of one after another aviation accidents, war after war, Ebola outbreaks, to my own father's health issue. It is very dark for me and my family.

Received the bad news on the very last day of 2014, my dad went home to be with the Lord at 1.55pm, with a smile on his face.

Daddy God, thank You that my dad is with you now, completely healed and healthy now.

爸爸,我们天堂见!

Christmas: 25 December 2014

It has been very different from last year, or all the other Christmas I'd ever had.

Merry and not-so-merry Christmas.

Of coz, I am happy to see literally, the whole world are celebrating my Lord's birthday, His name is being lifted up in every places, for whatever reason or purpose.

Yet, with dad's condition, I am worried on the other hand. And I received text msg from sis that dad was admitted on Christmas eve... I was totally swept off when I got the news, and it was sent last night, and yet, I did not see it as there were no new msg notification from the app - WeChat it is.

Then Laney called me and we had a good chat and I understand more about dad's condition. Sannie replied with dad's updates later on via text. The tumour has grown bigger, the findings of the CT scan. Dad is weak, low appetite and always sleepy.

Lord, I can only cast all my worries, my cares, my concerns about my dad unto You. No one is able to give me a miracle, but You. Thank You Lord, because You are good.

Was at Suntec City, accompanying aunt Kim while the girls + 1 boy was taking pics at the Alive! Museum. Had a good conversation with my aunt. Then I brought YM & YY for a walk at Orchard Road, since its their first time in Singapore and its Christmas day too.

A bit disappointed by the decorations at Orchard Road this year. But am glad I brought them there to experience their Christmas at Orchard Road, Singapore.

While we arrived at Orchard Road, I received a text msg from JR. He was asking for help as he was having fever and need to know if any clinic is opened. I tried to call a few A&Es and managed to find a GP clinic nearby his place with an affordable consultation rate. He went there but the queue was too long, so he decided to go Raffles Hospital.

I called him to check if he is alright. He sounded really bad and made me very worried. I wished to end the Orchard Road journey as soon as possible and rush to be with him. So, finally, I managed to send them both to meet up with the rest at Bayfront MRT station and took the DTL to Bugis to check him out at the emergency dept.

He told me that he is tattered but I told him that it doesn't matter. When I see him sitting on the sofa at the clinic, I felt relieved and thankful that he is not that bad or sick. Feverish, yes. His voice was not as bad as it was in the phone. We waited for about 10 minutes for his medicines and bills.

I had been wanted to send him home straight as he needs to rest and get welll soon for his flight tomorrow. But he insisted that we shld grab some food for me or at least a drink. Ended up, we went to Granny's Secret at OG for a bowl of dessert. Its a nice place I must say.

The not so nice plain water, tap water?

Very healthy dessert we had

We finally walked to the bus stop after the dessert, waited for about 15 minutes for the bus. Then I took NEL back as per his suggestion.

Lord, I know I have once again step over the borderline of our friendship. But I really was worried about him. And I miss him. I seriously wish to see him on this important date. I wish, our friendship can remain pure, always, til eternity. Amen.

Christmas: Eve of Christmas

It has been a fruitful and busy shopping season, and yet, I am once again being reminded that Jesus, is the reason for the season, not the gifts nor shopping.

Read a post from my favorite Chinese gospel FB's page this morning, The Real Christmas Eve, 真正的平安夜and was really delighted by the good explanation by the author.
Truly, when we are in Christ, every day will be our Christmas day and every night like Christmas eve.

只要願意接受主,每一天,每一晚,真的都可以是平安夜,因為平安就在你的裡面!

So, may we all have a blessed and restful Christmas and let's not forget that Jesus, our Lord, is the only reason for the season.

Many time, we tend to get overwhelmed by the circumstances, and forget the one thing that is needful, which is to sit at Jesus' feet and listen to Him, receive His love and grace for us.

Church: Worship Family Night (WFN) 2014 - Christmas

Celebrated the last Worship Family Night (WFN) of 2014, with a sumptous buffet spread and an international costume theme for all the attendees, and welcome gifts, blessed draw and most of all, a great theme - OMG, One Mighty God! To celebrate the birthday of Jesus, with all the beloveds of Him.

I had borrowed my Punjabi  costume from DP as I do not have any international costume. Here's some of my selfie...

I guess I do look good in this Punjabi suits. Haha!

Of coz, almost everyone dressed themselves up in different costume from different country as well... Check it out here!

We have China, Korea, Indonesia, Vietnam and so on...

The church has acknowledged the good work of Wendy, our choir director and tonight, she was promoted as deaconess of the church as well. Deaconess Wendy is a very dedicated person with spirit of excellent and high commitment, passionate, and loving leader for the choir. I have learnt a lot from this wonderful woman of God, and I am so thankful for her labour of love towards each and everyone in the worship ministry. Congratulation Deaconess Wendy, you are a true leader!

It's so good to be in the house of the Lord, spending time to praise and worship Him under one roof, with one heart and one voice, singing praises to the One and only - Jesus Christ!

Elf's: 1 Peter 5:7

Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. [Ps. 55:22.(1 Peter 5:7 AMP)

Was prompted the verse above this morning and been thinking about it. Something happened this morning. About 2 hours ago.

Am on my way now going back to Sg from BU.

Earlier on, I was trying to book a cab using the MyTeksi app, as what I used to do. However, after about 5 attempts, then I manage to get a cab. And the cab took about 10 minutes to arrive. So, in order not to miss the coach, I rang the coach company up to inform them that I will be late as I knew there will be bad traffic from my place to their place.

The lady who answered my call, however turned out not very helpful and only Ong to extend a good 5 minutes for me. So, while rushing down to BU, I have already prepared myself for not able to catch the bus and will need to buy another ticket for another trip and might not make for the ministry night tonight also. Yes, all the negatives thoughts just kept hitting me.

Dad was very restless last night and am very worried about mom as she was the one taking care of him the whole night. Though Laney is back from Batu Gajah, but still I just can't stop worrying.

While I was on my way to BU, I had a talk with the cab driver. And suddenly, I felt the relieve and just let go to God. Whether I can make it or not, it's not that important anymore. Safety is the key. And I will just follow what the Lord has for me. To be able to catch the bus or not, it's up to Him, no longer I. His way is better than mine, for sure.

And then, tada! I managed to arrive on time, at 10am sharp. Praise Jesus! He just opened the 'Red Sea' for me and my driver. It was such a smooth journey even though there was many cars on the road. God will make a way.

Then I remember this verse that I was prompted in the morning...

How wonderful! How marvellous is my Jesus! Right?

Dad: Day 31

Today we went to physiological & occupational therapy and follow up visit with doctor. The neuro surgeon said that my dad's condition is good and shld be able to go for radiation therapy. But need to see the neuro surgeon first that in charged for my dad's surgery. I believe this is also favor that our Lord have for my dad.

Mom and sis are worried if my dad cannot endure the radiation therapy. And they are more concerned of the quality of his life. So do I. So, hopefully the radiation therapy is going to extend his life span and increase his life quality as well.

I was accompanying my dad for his afternoon nap just now. He asked me to come close to him and he hugged me. I was so touched. I want him to live good and long life!

Dad: Day 29

Good news! I asked my dad if he trust in the God that I worship and he said yes. Then I asked him if he wants to make my God his God as well, and he said yes too. So, I led him to say the salvation's prayer in simple mandarin. He is a child of God now. Hallelujah!

Friends: Kaitlyn & Zion's wedding

Congratulations to Kaitlyn & Zion, my dear sister and brother in Christ.

I got to knew this couple back in 2011, knew Zion during Chingay event, and he introduced Kaitlyn to me, in 2012, as she is his beloved girlfriend.

We have shared many precious times and memories together, though there are times we do disagree with each other, or rather, I do not agree with you (Kaitlyn) but, I still treasure all that we shared, and I am truly happy for you both. Seeing your dad walking you down the aisle, and handed you to Zion, brought tears to my eyes. May you both always make Jesus as the center of your marriage. God Bless!

Aquarium: iXBonding

We had so many events in just one day.

  1. Wearing the same electric blue as a team for the company dinner. (Suggested blue as we are the aquarium group.)
  2. Early Christmas gift presented to us by our supervisor.
  3. Fire drill.
  4. KR's birthday celebration.
  5. Company dinner.

Well, there were many other colleagues from other departments are wearing the same blue, including our ex-supervisor WWJ, without knowing our plan. But, we still feel special and took many pictures in the office aka Aquarium.

As usual, even though it is still about a month to Christmas, our mushroom soup just can't wait to shower us with her love and her gifts for all of us - a custom-made passport holder with our choice of animal and name crafted on it. Thank you EC! You are very thoughtful and loving!

After the gift presentation and photo session, we had a fire drill practice organised by the Cyberhub management. So, I have volunteered myself, to be participated together with KR & AZ. And we took pictures, again... Lol!

The main reason for KR joining the fire drill program was because the rest of the team were busying setting up for her birthday celebration in the Aquarium. We surprised KR with a birthday cake, and a birthday gift as well as us singing her a birthday song in the Aquarium, she was surprised and touched, and she loves her birthday gift!

After that, the whole IXPL were busy preparing for our annual dinner. We had a good time at 21 on Rajah. Thanks boss and the committee members for your labour of love in organising this event.

Praise God for a wonderful day spending with all my team mates and colleagues at work! :)
